Stage 1 of 4
The move
Who has to be told, what to book, what to read on the day, and the jobs worth doing in the first hour.
A move is mostly admin done in the wrong order. These five pages put it back in order, and where a page says you have to do something, it says who says so and links the page that says it. Two of the jobs here carry a real obligation, several carry a bill if you skip them, and one of the most repeated pieces of advice on the internet turns out to have no official source behind it at all, so we say that too. Nothing on this stage asks you to buy anything.
The reading, in order
- The moving house checklist
- The first-time buyer checklist
- Moving house tips
- What to do first in a new home
- The new home essentials checklist
And after that
The stage after this one is the housewarming: When to have one, what the customs actually are, what to spend, and what to write in the card.
