New home keys print: The New Keys

Moving day has its own small moments. In this one, two keys hang from a loop of dusty-pink ribbon on a white window sill, next to a sprig of green leaves. Through the glass, a hillside of houses with warm terracotta roofs and dark, tall trees fades into a misty sky. The view is soft and blurred, so your eye stays on the keys.

It is drawn in ink and wash. Fine dark lines pick out the keys, the ribbon and the window frame, and thin watery colour fills them in. The palette is pale: cream, blush pink, sage and a little gold on the keys. It makes a thoughtful present for a first-time buyer, a couple moving in together, or anyone who has just signed for a new place. It suits a hallway, a bedroom or the shelf by the front door where the real keys will live.

The tall picture shows plenty of sky and a long stretch of sill below. The poster, framed canvas and metal print crop in to the window view and the keys, which sit near the bottom edge. Not sure what to write with it? Read what to write in a new home card.
