Decide whether a house picture suits them

A personal photograph can be meaningful when the recipient likes the idea and has a use for the finished item. Ask about their taste, wall space or preferred everyday format. It need not be a large or framed gift, and a ready-made piece or practical present can be just as welcome.

What you personalise

The image comes from your own photograph of the building. This photo flow does not add a typed name, date or message. If you want a message to accompany it, see new-home card wording. Different people can choose the same house as a subject, so coordinate group gifts if you want to avoid duplicates.

Choose the original photograph or an AI style

Direct photo printing keeps your original picture. The optional AI studio offers illustration styles and three successful previews per verified client per day. Choose your preferred preview before proceeding. AI may alter fine details, lettering or proportions: inspect the building and the print crop before approving it.

For either route, confirm that you own the image or have permission to transform and reproduce it. A clear picture with the important parts of the building visible gives you more choice about the crop.

Compare a few visual directions

Line and blueprint treatments emphasise outlines; watercolour and pen-and-wash treatments give a painted effect. Ink, screen-print, evening-light and charcoal options offer other contrasts and textures. Use the recipient's preferences to choose a starting point. A style name alone cannot tell you how every house will look.

What the personalisation costs

Worth being straight about this, because most sites are not. Sending us your own photograph of the house costs nothing extra: an A4 print is £14.99 whether the picture is yours or ours. What costs more is asking us to paint it. The illustrated version starts at £19.99 for A4 and £34.99 for A3, against £14.99 and £28.99 for the photograph, because the artwork is generated and checked before anything is printed.

You see the illustration before you pay for it either way, so the decision is not a gamble. The question is only whether the house looks better as itself or as a picture of itself, and for a modern house the honest answer is often the photograph.

What makes these personalised?
The image comes from the photograph you supply. You can print that photograph directly or choose an AI-styled version. Personalisation does not make a gift automatically unique or right for every recipient.
What happens to the photo?
For direct printing you keep the original image. For optional AI restyling, choose a style, review the watermarked previews and explicitly select the result you want. Inspect details and crop before ordering.
Can I add names or dates?
This photo-printing flow does not add typed wording. A handwritten card can carry the message you want to include.
Can it be a surprise?
Yes, but consider the recipient’s preferences and delivery arrangements, and only use a photograph you own or have permission to reproduce.
Can I leave the photograph unchanged?
Yes. Use direct photo printing and choose the format and crop.
What is the turnaround?
Check the current production and delivery information for the specific format before relying on it for a date.
