When should you have a housewarming party?
When to have a housewarming party is really down to you; most people wait until they're mostly unpacked, commonly a few weeks to a few months after moving in.
There's no deadline to hit, and waiting a little longer rarely does any harm to the occasion. There's no strict rule or deadline. Some hosts prefer to wait until the house genuinely feels lived-in, furniture in place, boxes gone, so guests see the finished rooms. Others host earlier, treating the party as motivation to get unpacked, or simply because friends and family are keen to see the new place sooner. If a garden or a particular room is a big part of the house's appeal, it can be worth timing the party around a season when it looks its best. The only real consideration is practical: make sure there's enough space for guests, and the essentials are in place before you invite people round.
