The Reading Nook

Rain runs down the window, and inside it is warm. A worn green armchair sits in the corner with a patterned throw draped over one arm. Beside it, a small round table holds a stack of old books and a mug. An orange lamp on a tall brass stand leans over the chair, plates hang on the mustard wall, and a basket and a fern sit on the wooden floor by a red patterned rug. Through the panes you can see a stone wall and some green leaves.

It is painted in oils, warm and textured. Mustard, moss green, brown and the orange of the lamp make the whole room glow. Anyone who loves to read will see their favourite corner in it. It is a kind present for a book lover, a new homeowner setting up a reading spot, or a friend who needs a reminder to sit down. Hang it in a study, a bedroom or by a bookcase.

The tall version shows the rug and floor at the bottom. On wood, metal and canvas the picture crops to the window, the lamp, the chair and the books. If you would rather print a photo of your own home, try create your print.
