What do you write in a new home card?

Most people keep it to a sentence or two, said in their own words rather than copied off a card in a shop. There's no formula to follow. A line such as "congratulations on the new home, we hope it's filled with happy memories" covers most occasions, and you can add something more personal if you know the recipient well, a nod to how long they searched, or a joke about the boxes. Keep it brief; a card is a gesture, not an essay. If you're close to the person, mention something specific, the new garden, the extra bedroom, the shorter commute, so it reads as genuinely theirs. Sign off with your name and, if it feels right, an invitation to visit.
