Questions

What are good housewarming party ideas?

Good housewarming party ideas keep things relaxed: a tour of the house, easy food and drink, and no pressure on guests to bring anything specific.

There's no need to stage anything elaborate; keeping things low-key usually goes down better than a tightly planned itinerary. A short tour lets guests see the place properly and gives you a natural way to talk about the move. Food doesn't need to be elaborate: a potluck spreads the effort and the cost, or simple nibbles and drinks work just as well. If you'd rather not receive a stack of candles and wine, it's fine to add "no gifts, or bring a plant" to the invite; most guests appreciate the steer. Keep the guest list to a size the space can hold, and have a plan for coats, shoes, and where drinks can go down safely.

If guests ask what to bring instead, point them toward housewarming gifts that show the house itself. For timing, see when to have a housewarming.
